Gabrielle Duggan was born in Buffalo, NY where she began her undergraduate studies before moving to New York, NY and eventually Raleigh, NC to earn a Master of Art and Design.

"My work serpentines through a vast geography of material and immaterial concerns. The act of imaging consistently resurfaces throughout the different media I explore. This has most recently aligned itself with the relationships between cloth, clothing and humans as makers, wearers and viewers.

The impact of making fiber objects is far-reaching; from social implications and expectations, to physical affects on other species and generations. Moreover, the experience of physically interacting with these objects may differ immensely from that of their viewing.

These issues consist of many layers; I am only just beginning to discern their nature."
